Spring

It's hard to believe how fast time can go by!

We have added cows to our farm this past Fall and winter.
Mabel was first.
Then came Studburger. Can you guess his job?

So then comes learning how to make butter, cheese and yogurt. Yummy!!!

Did I mention the 2 Great Pyrenees?

Here is Lucy and Ethel with Pearce's niece, Kate.

Flowers are blooming early this year:

2011, A Busy Year

How can I even catch everyone up? It seems that it's been a blink of an eye and here it is OCTOBER. Where to begin? We've been as busy as our bees! We started with 3 hives and now have 5. Bees are extremely interesting. We should be able to "steal" honey this up-coming spring.

We have had an animal explosion this past spring, which keeps everyone busy.

Yard work and landscaping is a never-ending job. The rewards are amazing, though.

No more ramp at the front door.

The most recent addition is "Studburger". He will be Mabel's mate once grown. At this point she is being somewhat of a mother figure to him. We are bottle feeding him for his nutrition. So cool!

Next year, we'll have a calf of our own and be able to milk Mabel for milk, cheese, yogurt and butter.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! We went to Vero Beach to surprise my Mom. Needless to say she was and I have never seen her smile and laugh so much. That was the best Christmas present for me! Jacob and Amy were her best present!

We took everything needed for Christmas including the tree and decorations,

all the meals,

presents,

And stockings! Stockings were always a big thing when I was a child. So, I had NO idea this was to be my Mom's first!

We had a wonderful four days with her!

Before leaving though, we were blessed with another special birthing here on the farm! We actually had all three sows give birth for a final tally of SIXTEEN!
We pray for a very blessed and healthy New Year for you all!

What's new? Where do I begin? First, we now have a new heating system that is heating not only the house, but our domestic water, wood burning boiler ! The house has a fresh face with replaced boards and a GREAT paint job!
And in the middle of all the construction, the well went dry. Sooo, we drilled and voila! More nice, clean beautiful water. A gift from God!

FENCING ,FENCING AND MORE FENCING!!!!!

But, the sweetest change of all has been the addition of our beehives!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving ! I know we sure have A LOT to be thankful for this year.
Most especially for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
And the family and friends He has so richly blessed us with in this life.
Remember our Service men and women that are away from their loved ones this Season!

Great pictures and video from Sons and Daughters In Touch!

What's new on the farm?
Swimming Turkeys:

Wish I could have gotten video of me getting her out. Probably could have won some money on America's Funniest Home Videos! Maybe, a cameraman will be around next time I look like an idiot. And believe me, there's always a next time for that here on the farm!
